State Police Talk Planting Season Safety

ILLINOIS (RFD) — Planting equipment could be rolling as early as this week across the area as the weather seems to be giving producers a chance to finally get in the fields. State Police are reminding motorists to be on the lookout for heavy machinery and slow down while also giving them space.

Trooper Matt Frizzle says it’s important to be cautious if you are going to pass them on country roads.

Farmers were also not forgotten by Trooper Frizzle when it came to passing along safety messages.

Planting season will likely run up to and through the Memorial Day weekend when authorities will be planning details during the holiday.

Authorities continue to remind motorists it is the law to get over for emergency vehicles on the side of the road and they remained focused on the safety of their peers across the state.
