TWO BEHIND BARS FOLLOWING WARRANT ARREST IN CARMI WEDNESDAY

CARMI — Two Carmi residents were taken to the White County Jail following a warrant arrest Wednesday in Carmi.

Carmi Police say officers responded to 105 Fairview Drive at 2:50 p.m. on a report of 22-year-old James Christian Stevens and 35-year-old Heather D. Bond walking into the home. Police knew that Stevens was wanted on a warrant for unlawful deliver of methamphetamine.

A short time later, Bond came out and said Stevens was not in the house and allowed officers to look. Officers found Stevens hiding in the attic and placed him under arrest. His bond was set at $7,500.

Bond was arrested for aiding a fugitive and obstructing justice. Her bond was set at $1,500.
