CLINTON COUNTY — After three years, a jury trial date has been confirmed in the Clinton County case charging a 43-year-old Centralia man with two felony counts alleging sex with a juvenile family member.

Jeremy W. Wright will stand trial starting July 30 on charges of Class 1 felony criminal sexual assault of a family member under the age of 18 and Class 2 felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a family member under the age of 18.

According to Clinton County State’s Attorney John Hudspeth, on May 14, 2015, Clinton County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Wright at his home on Hugo Road in Centralia.

Bail for Wright was set at $50,000, and after a few weeks in the Clinton County Jail he was released on $5,000 cash bond, with the stipulation that he have no contact with the alleged victim, the victim’s mother, or the victim’s residence.

In August 2016, Wright was arrested and charged with violation of bail bond. That misdemeanor case will be tried along with the felony sex offense charges.
