Centralia police arrested a 20-year-old Christopher man Friday night after responding to a call of suspicious people with flashlights in the 1300 block of South Locust, where vehicles have recently been broken into.

While being questioned Alvaro Martinez reportedly gave officers some methamphetamine, along with drug pipes, and hypodermic syringes.

He was taken into custody for alleged possession of meth and drug paraphernalia, as well as in connection with an incident last month where he allegedly took two rings from a home on East 10th Street where he was doing some work for the homeowner.

Martinez denies taking the jewelry.
